About Us

Community Spy was created out of necessity. My brother and I come from a great community that thrives on openness and small-town appeal and spent our youth actively sharing the goodness of our town with any who asked. That our family was in the retail trade and relied on visitors to the town for commerce also helped us to be active promoters of the community. That said, a career in the US Military has forced Matt to move constantly from community to community—fourteen communities in fifteen years! You can imagine the difficulty of moving into new communities blind—basing home, work, school and entertainment choices solely on limited insight. What was needed was a reliable, single-source of information that could be referenced BEFORE the choices were made. And that source had to be created by those who know the subject matter best.

In 2007, the success and popularity of opinion sites for consumers made it clear that the same concept could be applied to the community venue. Some exploration and design time elapsed before this site was born. Now it relies on YOU to flourish—it’s only as good as its content, after all.

Community Spy is intended to be a place of sharing. Quite simply, it is a venue for your opinions about your community. As well, it is a place for researchers to learn about communities from those who know best—the people who live, work and interact within them!

Please join Community Spy in shedding light on the finer details of communities world-wide. Prospective community members no longer have to make choices in the dark, thanks to the web-based community of active participants. Be a part of OUR community and share about your own—we’re all looking forward to hearing what you have to say!

Sincerely,

Matt and Adam Fritz
